Brentwood sits just over the Williamson County line, about twenty minutes down I-65 or Franklin Road from downtown Nashville. The city has required one-acre residential lots since it incorporated in 1969, which is why the neighborhoods look the way they do: brick traditional houses set well back from the street, Brenthaven and the older streets off Franklin Road and Concord Road from the 1970s and 1980s, Raintree Forest and Annandale from the 1990s and 2000s, and Governors Club with its guarded gate and golf course. Witherspoon, with trails into Crockett Park, and Taramore added newer houses in Tudor, French country and transitional styles.
